This term you will be creating and collecting cultural artifacts (assignments) that display your growing knowledge of Hispanic culture. At the end of the term, your portfolios will be on display for the class (and possibly other community events-depending on the term). You will need to organize your cultural portfolio using a 3-ring binder (1'' will be sufficient) with tab dividers between the sections. For all of the assignments, please run Chinese" spelling& grammar check" prior to submission, and please remember NCC's policy on academic honest and complete your own work. You will submit the assignments at the beginning of class on the dates listed in your syllabus schedule. At the end of the term, you will compile your work into a culture portfolio, and will submit the portfolio on the date listed in your syllabus schedule.
Section 1:
culture portfolio tile page
cultural event report #1
Section 2: city report
Section 3: art/music review
Section 4: biography video and scrip; overall portfolio appearance & content
Culture portfolio title page: this is the first impression of your cultural portfolio. You should, at a minimum, include the title of your portfolio, your first & last name, your course& section numbers, the trimester& year, and graphics/photos that summarize your cultural portfolio. Be sure to clearly label each section.
Section1: during the summer course, you will broaden your world-view by participating in several cultural events during the afternoon sessions. You will write a short report about each experience (in Chinese) describing the event and your opinion/understanding of the event. Be sure to describe the events as completely as you can. Describe the people/participants. describe the venue/location. Do you know something new now that you have participated in this event? Do you recommend this event to your classmates?
Report is extremely logical and effective, and includes a complete description of the event. Superior thought and effort has been put into the crafting of the report. Details are rich and appropriate to the themes we are focusing on in class. Far exceeds the required number of sentences to include highly insightful details.
