Filling-in & Freshness

Today, I filled in for Grace. I played "Elevator Speech" in Chinese with her students as the self-introduction. Some of them were very shy, but most of them were kinda motivated to "give me a good impression"! After the class, there was a student even came up to me and asked "Laoshi, ni cong na ge guojia lai?"

I did the same teaching contents for both of the classes with the slight difference that instead of the self-introduction, I did the Lesson Test review for mine...then followed by "sentence patterns and grammar" while I drilled them "placement and location terms"by using the the picture of the Food Pyramid. However it is weird, I just felt Grace's students are more active and volunterly got involved in the pair activities, is it like it goes "familiarity breeds contempt"?
